Architecturally Speaking

With this weeks theme of “Architecturally Speaking” I was excited with the possibilities.  Capturing an image proved to be much more of a challenge.
Unlike many small subjects , a house cannot always be easily lit with a few flashes here and there, so for the most part you must rely on the sun being at the right spot and the weather to cooperate just enough to get your shot.

The last few days have not been the best for clear skies, so getting this image was a bit of pressure.

I have to admit this was a bit of a rushed job, the long weekend cut my process time by four days. Ideally I’d have shot something Saturday, edited Sunday and Printed /matted/mounted on Monday.  But even photographers that live in their own world have to accept deadlines. An additional challenge was the bush on the right of the door. My initial setup took an image from another angle, added depth to the house, but the bush blocked the front door. A composite image may be needed if this was your client.
